Thank you to the dozens of you that responded to my last post asking if you would be interested in an economics/business/finance related tafseer class.

I’m pleased to announce that we will be starting from next month using Facebook Live on our FB page inshAllah. The details and link are all in the image below.

We will not be going through every verse of the Qur’an (as, understandably, every verse of the Qur’an is not about business/finance/economics). Instead we’ll be going through key passages that are of relevance to our core themes. I’ll be aiming to keep the classes to 45-60 minutes. The rough format will be:

  1. A recitation and translation of the passage;
  2. An introduction to the passage and an overview of the body of tafseer literature on the passage;
  3. Building upon messages related to our core themes;
  4. Applying these messages to our daily lives.
  5. Q&A

The general vibe of these classes will be a case of shared learning and discussion – so please do your own reading/thinking and share with us in the class!
